I am Associate Professor and Director of the Institute for Telecommunications Research at the University of South Australia. My research is dedicated to bridging the gap between theoretical results and their practical applications.
I delivered a number of key solutions to the project "Global Sensor Network" which was awarded Technology of the Year 2013 by the International Wireless Innovation Forum and has attracted international investors. My contributions ranged from theoretical concepts through to implementations, including software for deployment on both ground and space-based equipment. See the video below for an overview of this project.
Currently, my research is on satellite communications with partners including Thales, Honeywell and the Defence Science and Technology Group. My particular focus is on the improvement of satellite based Search & Rescue Systems and high-speed satellite links.
